Current Time is the leading independent Russian-language television channel, providing factual news, unbiassed reporting, and engaging video content to Russian-speaking audiences. We strive to ensure people have access to accurate information in places where such access may be limited by censorship, and freedom of speech may be under threat.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Creating Compelling Content: Collaborate with our production team to research, write, and produce captivating TV news copy and video packages. You'll also produce original multimedia content and gather stories from RFE/RL language services and news agencies.
- Adapting and Sharing Content: Adapt video content from RFE/RL language services for use by Current Time TV, coordinating with producers to obtain video files, transcripts, and translations. You'll ensure that all content meets our high standards for quality and accuracy.
- Booking and Conducting Interviews: From studio to Skype, you'll book and conduct interviews with guests, cultivating extensive contacts and preparing information to enable high-quality discussions. You'll also gather video elements to enhance associated interviews.
- Editing and Assembling: Assemble and edit recorded video footage into finished projects suitable for broadcasting, ensuring logical sequencing and the highest production values. You'll collaborate closely with our Line Producer and Executive Producer to ensure all elements are ready for air.

What We're Looking For:
- Experience: With at least 5 years of experience in a media company, including newscast experience in a daily television news gathering operation, you'll bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the role.
- Excellent Communication Skills: Your ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, is essential for success in this role.
- Collaborative Approach: You'll thrive in a collaborative environment, working closely with executives, producers, and team members to bring our vision to life.
- Passion for International Events: An interest in international events and politics, along with familiarity with situations in RFE/RL's target countries, is highly desirable.
- Languages: Proficiency in English and fluency in Russian language.

Appointment against this post is on a local basis only. Please note that for the locally advertised positions preference will be given to those with a work permit and/or a valid residence status in the Czech Republic. Locally recruited employees should reside within commuting distance of Prague, Czech Republic, or be willing to move to take up work. They are not eligible for allowances applicable to candidates who are internationally recruited. Rather, they receive statutory benefits as per Czech labor law. Salary scales for locally recruited employees are based on the best prevailing local conditions. RFE/RL does, however, cover the costs of interview travel and, upon appointment, some relocation costs.
