We are currently seeking a dynamic and skilled Scheduling Producer to join our team. As a Scheduling Producer, you'll play a crucial role in shaping our programming, collaborating closely with our experienced team to deliver top-notch content to our viewers worldwide. The team operates on a shift basis, including night hours and weekends, therefore flexibility is required.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Program Development: Collaborate closely with the Manager of Scheduling and senior producers to develop innovative programming strategies that resonate with our diverse audience, leveraging market insights and audience analytics to inform content decisions.
  • Technical Operations: Oversee the seamless uploading and transmission of programs through automated satellite playout systems and web platforms, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in accordance with the programming schedule.
  • Content Optimization: Continuously monitor program performance and audience engagement metrics, identifying opportunities for optimization and enhancement to drive viewership and retention.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work collaboratively with affiliates and stakeholders to ensure smooth coordination of program delivery, providing timely updates on schedule changes and new content releases.
  • Creative Asset Management: Curate and organize a comprehensive library of creative assets, including promos, channel IDs, and fillers, ensuring easy accessibility and efficient utilization across programming initiatives.
  • Quality Control: Conduct rigorous quality assurance checks on all ingested material to ensure adherence to technical specifications and RFE/RL standards, troubleshooting any issues promptly to minimize on-air disruptions.
  • Live Event Execution: Coordinate the flawless execution of live events, liaising with production teams and technical staff to ensure seamless transitions and optimal viewer experience.
  • Multimedia Storytelling: Collaborate with producers to craft compelling advisories and promotional materials for upcoming events, employing a keen understanding of visual storytelling techniques to engage and captivate our audience.
  • Compliance Management: Ensure all scheduled TV programs comply with RFE/RL standards and technical requirements, conducting thorough reviews and edits as necessary to uphold quality and integrity.
  • Archival Management: Maintain meticulous records of all program materials and assets, overseeing the archival process and ensuring accessibility for future reference and repurposing.
  • Continuous Improvement: Proactively seek out opportunities for process optimization and efficiency enhancement, contributing innovative ideas and solutions to elevate the quality and effectiveness of our programming operations.
  • Ad Hoc Support: Provide additional support and assistance to the scheduling team and production staff as needed, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in addressing evolving priorities and challenges.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: Higher education or certificate in film studies or a related field preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum one-year experience in non-linear video editing and television production, with proficiency in digital technology and editing software packages.
  • Competencies: Demonstrated ability to work under deadline pressure, innovate, and collaborate effectively. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite 6 and familiarity with graphic design packages desired.
  • Languages: Fluency in Russian and English required, with knowledge of another RFE/RL target language desirable.

Appointment against this post is on a local basis only. Please note that for the locally advertised positions preference will be given to those with a work permit and/or a valid residence status in the Czech Republic. Locally recruited employees should reside within commuting distance of Prague, Czech Republic, or be willing to move to take up work. They are not eligible for allowances applicable to candidates who are internationally recruited. Rather, they receive statutory benefits as per Czech labor law. Salary scales for locally recruited employees are based on the best prevailing local conditions. RFE/RL does, however, cover the costs of interview travel and, upon appointment, some relocation costs.
