As an intern, you will have the invaluable opportunity to conduct in-depth research within various legal domains, including civil law, labor law, administrative law, and more, focusing on the countries in which our radio operations are based.  The selected intern would be expected to assist on the projects from 10-20 hours per week and dedicate a minimum of three months to their RFE/RL experience, with the possibility of renewal up to a maximum of 6 months. Nonetheless, we also consider applications from those seeking shorter durations for full-time, intensive internships.

During your internship, you can expect to:

  • Deepen your knowledge and understanding of legal principles and emerging issues pertaining to different jurisdictions.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the intricate relationship between EU legislation and the legal frameworks of non-EU countries while working within a multicultural organizational context.
  • Acquire insight into the complicated specifics of the legal administration of a non-profit organization operating on several continents.

Your responsibilities will encompass:

  • Assisting in the development of informative legal resources, such as FAQs and memoranda, for our internal platform.
  •  Managing and updating legal documents necessary for the organization's operations.
  • Managing and updating contractual agreements with third parties to safeguard our organization's interests.

Minimum requirements are:

  • An educational foundation in law or law-related areas is mandatory, and orientation in Czech law or EU law is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated fluency in written and spoken English is mandatory.
  • Proficiency in Czech would be advantageous.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills to effectively engage with stakeholders.
  • Exemplary professionalism when working alongside our employees.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and superb organizational abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and others.
  • Prior experience in law is considered an asset.
