Job Summary:

Reporting to Manager, Field/Bureau Engineering, Field Engineer performs primary and secondary level maintenance and installation on all equipment items in Bureaus and the Prague Broadcast Center. Troubleshoots faulty equipment and develops solutions to support the broadcasting mission. Provides trouble call customer assistance for the broadcast staff. Provides field support to corporate bureaus located throughout Eastern Europe, Central Asia, Middle East, North America and other locations as necessary. Participates in the planning and coordination of remote broadcasts and special events.

 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Ensures Field Engineering projects are completed in a timely, efficient and professional manner.
  • Completes the construction and installation of broadcast equipment and studios in Bureaus and for special events. Provides advice, guidance and training to Bureau staff.
  • Assists in developing Standard Operating Procedures for the Field Engineering section.
  • Provides documentation on all projects and assists with quality control documentation. Performs detailed electronic drawings for planning and documentation.
  • Shift, night work and extensive travel required. As directed, performs other duties consistent with his/her qualifications and professional experience.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

  • Engineering or related field (Secondary), mandatory
  • Technical fields (Secondary), mandatory
  • Combination of education and experience

 

Work Experience:

  • Engineering or related field (Secondary), mandatory
  • Technical fields (Secondary), mandatory
  • Combination of education and experience
  • Experience in the relevant technical discipline 2-5 years

 

Competencies:

  • Broadcast engineering, mandatory
  • Understands and meets customer needs in a helpful way, whether they are internal or external clients, mandatory
  • Experience in working with digital and analog studio equipment, radio/TV digital and analog signal distribution systems., mandatory
  • Experience in making hardware equipment operational and configured., mandatory
  • Working knowledge of Broadcast Audio/Video compression and transmission technologies. (Mandatory)
  • Relevant software knowledge, mandatory
  • Ability to work with others on a team - be a team player, who can interact and operate effectively with peers and other associates within a collegial, and yet demanding work environment., mandatory
  • Ability to solve various every-day issues

 

Languages:

  • Working knowledge Oral+Written of English and Czech languages required, Russian is an advantage
