We are thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as the Head of Office for Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (RFE/RL) in Latvia. As the legal representative of RFE/RL in Latvia, you will report to the Regional Director and be the driving force behind the day-to-day operations of RFE/RL’s office in Riga, ensuring that all teams working from the office have the necessary support to be successful.

In this role, you will:

  • Serve as the legal representative of RFE/RL, ensuring compliance with applicable legislation.
  • Manage daily business and financial operations of the office, overseeing administrative staff.
  • Provide necessary support for all RFE/RL teams working from the office, fostering a supportive environment for collaboration and communication.
  • Liaise with office personnel promptly and accurately on corporate initiatives.
  • Coordinate with the Bureau Accountant to ensure mutual support.
  • Ensure compliance with IT and personnel security protocols, drafting security-related contingency plans.
  • Report and respond to relevant departments in Prague on time.
  • Act as an ambassador for RFE/RL in the local political and media environment, maintaining professional relationships and monitoring media references.
  • Stay updated on local legislation and ensure financial obligations are met.
  • Negotiate leases and liaise with landlords and service providers, coordinating with the Regional Finance Office and Legal Department

Are you the right candidate?

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • Master's degree in international relations, business administration, or related field. In-depth knowledge of political, economic, and social situations in the country of work and international affairs is mandatory.
  • Previous multicultural or multinational work experience or experience living and working abroad is also mandatory.
  • Management experience (5+ years), public speaking or public diplomacy experience (highly desirable), ability to take initiative, work independently, and prioritize tasks, strong organizational and planning skills at a managerial level, ability to coordinate various teams, establish contacts and foster relationships, conflict resolution skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
  • Additionally, interpersonal and communication skills are essential to foster a positive and inclusive working environment. You must have end-user knowledge of MS Office applications and excellent presentation skills.

Proficiency in English and Latvian is required. Russian language skills are highly desirable.
